Recently i bought, on an auction, 10 films of the type “ Eastman Panatomic “ a nitrate cellulose based film.
The films are dated 1937 and all images were made in Egypt and Indonesia
I did some research and found out that these images were made by the Dutch scientist
prof.dr.G.J.van der Plaats.
Images contain subjects such as the pyramids, the Suez channel, boats , Karnak and so on.
The condition varies from film to film, some are already dark with out contrast other seems to be reasonable condition with respect to the age of this film.
The film is 83 years boxed and is very curly, but stil there are usable images to recover.
